The Barker League
Grab your friends and sign up for the most fun you'll have on a basketball court this winter. The Barker League is our in-town hoops league for all ability levels.
In grades 1-3, players focus on skill and team development with combined sessions of practice and game action. From 4th to 8th grade, the kids will make memories that last, competing with and against friends for big Saturday wins and league championships.
The TBL season will start Saturday 11/16/24.
Hingham Travel Basketball
Does your 3rd - 8th grade player love hoops and want additional competition against other towns and in tournaments? Sign up for Hingham Travel Basketball tryouts!
Players will try out for a travel team, and if selected, will practice 1-2 times per week with 1-2 games each weekend played against grade level competition from across the region.
If you wish to try out for Hingham Travel Basketball, please indicate that interest in your registration and keep your eyes open for tryout dates in October. Players will receive team contract offers following tryouts. Part of accepting a travel basketball offer is paying the $275.00 additional travel player fee.
Grades
The Barker League offers divisions for 1st through 8th grade.
When
The Barker League games are played on Saturdays at gyms throughout town. The season will start on November 16th with weekends off for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and President's Day.
Where
The Barker League sessions are played at gyms throughout Hingham including East Elementary School, Plymouth River School, South Elementary School, Hingham Middle School, Hingham High School, and Derby Academy.
Player Fees
The Barker League player fee is $250.00.
Playing Hingham Travel in addition to The Barker League is an additional $275.00.
Games
Grades 1, 2, and 3 will have a 30-minute practice at the start of their 75-minute session, followed by a 40-45 minute game.
Grades 1 and 2 games will be refereed by coaches with an emphasis of keeping the game fun and safe.
Referees begin working games in grade 3, but no score is kept.
Starting in 4th grade, referees work the games, scores are kept, and standings determine playoff seeding on the way to league championships.
Jerseys
Our NBA replica jerseys will give players a chance to rep their TBL gear around town while feeling like a real pro on the court.

Register today for The Barker League (our in-town league) and indicate whether your player intends to try out for Hingham Travel Basketball.
Our fall registration period runs through October 20th. Late registrations after October 20th will include a $50 late fee.
