HYB Travel Player and Parent Agreement

AGREEMENT: This player/parent agreement (“Contract”) is made between Hingham Youth Basketball and the player designated in this registration form on the date of the completed form. Hingham Youth Basketball and player and parent, in consideration of the promises of each to the other, agree as follows: It is expected that players who make a commitment to play travel basketball are available to practice and play throughout the season. Travel games, playoff games, scheduled tournament games, non league games, and practices may take place on weekdays and weekends. Absences for practices and games may affect playing time. Repeated unexcused absences will be considered in selection of future travel teams. Parents, please refrain from coaching your child on the sidelines. That includes comments or instruction when in practice or during a game. Please be courteous to the coaching staff and allow coaches to coach. Outbursts and disruptive behavior from the parents, fans, and players will not be tolerated. Only coaches and players are allowed on the court (with limited exceptions for scoreboard operators and scorekeepers). Parents are encouraged to support their children. However, during practices and games they should refrain from approaching the court to coach, counsel, or to critique their child. Players should not leave the court during games unless it is to use the restroom. Players should have everything they need with them when they enter the gymnasium. Players are not to make phone calls or send text messages at any time during practice, tournament play, or team meetings unless it is an emergency and permission is granted from the coach. Good sportsmanship and professional behavior is expected at all times, and in all circumstances by both the player and the parent. There should be no conversation with referees, coaches, players, or parents regarding a call or a play. Parents agree not to bring up concerns during or immediately after a game or practice. Parents must observe a 24-hour delay before emailing the coach and the Travel Director Matt LeBretton Mattlebretton@gmail.com to set up an appropriate time to address questions or concerns. Players and Parents are expected to maintain proper procedures and cleanliness for the facility and court during and after each use. Please clean up all trash. The player and parent agree to accept, abide by and comply with all provisions of the Hingham Youth Basketball Code of Conduct available at our website.  Parents acknowledge that failure to abide by this contract and/or the Code of Conduct may result in denial of access to Hingham Youth Basketball games. Players acknowledge that failure to abide by this contract and/or the Code of Conduct may result in suspension and/or termination from the Hingham Youth Basketball Program. Hingham Youth Basketball may terminate this contract at any time and for any reason. The player and parent understand and agree that membership on the team is not guaranteed, and that this contract may be terminated at the sole discretion of Hingham Youth Basketball’s Executive Committee.
